Yes,good idea. I went from the MBR class 4 years ago to the MSR class. Your right the old eyes don't work good enough to go up against those young bucks any more. I went to a scope and long stabilizer to compete agaist the big boys. I can't wait to get em of right after world's and get back to what we all should be shooting PINS. I got into this to help my shooting for hunting and would warmly welcome the senior HC. To add a little icing on the cake would be to limit the speed to 280fps. Then if your 6'6" with a 32 inch draw lengh you couldn't be shooting a bow that goes 320fps. I always thought this was a little unfair. In basketball if your 6'6" or plus they just throw you the ball and you dunk it. The little 6' guy has to shoot with percision from way out to get his points. Archery the same thing. A 28" draw will be lucky to get a bow to shoot 280 where the 32" draw will easy get 300fps. Why should you have this advantage just because your a big guy. Go play basketball or football, there's more money to be made. It would sure be nice to put everyone on an equel playing surface. I think this should go for every class, not just senior. Senior Hunter Class--count me in.

Focus on the establishment of the class. I would assume the rules would follow those of HC, if established.
Don't get bogged down with performance limitations or other issues.

I'm amazed BTS. I thought you'd been shooting MSR for years. I guess it's those shoes.
Since IBO doesn't limit speed in other classes, I wouldn't want to see it here either. I think HC rules with the MSR age would work fine. What would shooters presently in MSR be inclined to do?
BTW, to shoot 280, I'd have to shoot 500 gr arrows. Then nobody would want to pull mine. [:@]
Ken, looks like we were typing at the same time.

ORIGINAL: BowPro

We're listening. Let's See what sort of input we get. So far it has been from a few guys.

BowPro.....I have several seniors in my area that would like to see
a Senior Hunter Class (SHC) started up.
I feel we should give this class a try for a year or so to see the response
we get.

I vote yes,

Thanks for the vote Ohio_Curtis! Lets hear it from more state reps! I really think this class would take some of the pressure off the regular hunter class and provde an equal oportunity for the seniors to compete in their own hunter class.

And I do appreciate you loaning me your card.

I like Curtis' idea. Try the class for a year (maybe give it two to allow the word to get out to everyone). As we all know, there are many, many shooters that don't surf the net. I suspect a good number of people would like to see this class that will never say so here. I'll be at Nelsonville and Snowshoe and would be willing to help poll shooters re: this class.

Senior Hunter Class (SHC) is a great idea. Keep the same rules as the HC just use age 50+ for the SHC.
