Was I the only one that notice the people at the check in tents are lazy. I walk off the course the first day even and the guy didn' t even check me.I asked him about it and he stamped my cards and to have a nice day.The second day i shot +3 and they wheren' t going to check me untill I insisted to be checked.I know the tents are ran by the host club but I think somethibg needs to be done before it gets out of control.Other then that and the mud it was a great shoot. So my only question is how many people got away with stuff.

You might chalk it up to inexperience. I shot EFGH and they checked me after 10 targets. They ran at least 30 people thru that I saw. If you shot about 96 on a range they pulled your card and checked you.

i shot on efgh and saw several people get checked. i also shot well, and in years past was checked, but not this weekend. as for the folks being lazy, i think not. if you noticed it was quite nasty up on that hill, and those same " lazy" people set those ranges you shot, along with the other ranges. lazy may not be a term i would use for the folks who work so hard putting on a shoot for you, the participant....tired may be a better word.
as for your requesting to be checked, that is okay, as for people getting away with something, we all know the rules, and in the last few years i have not heard of any shooters being disqualified for equipment not being within the rules. it is good that they check, but after seeing some of the scores, i think a 3 up was not the concern. there were a lot of good scores on that combination of ranges, so maybe they did overlook a few....nelsonville will be the deciding shoot anyway. if your not within 10 points of the top shooters, it will be extremely tough to catch up....

I shot the whole thing on Friday and asked how the scores were looking . The guy told me they were checking all guys with complete scores over 398 and had around 18 - 20 on Friday .
I had a 102 , 102 , 99 , and then a nasty 91 on the last 10 . I was surprised I didn' t get checked , but after checking the scores I' m not .
This was MBO on EFGH .
I thought the shoot went pretty well and I am thinking about Nelsonville already .

One thing they are not is lazy. They have guidelines that can change during a shoot. They are monitoring a percentage that takes the top scores coming in. It is possible to get missed. It is possible to get checked. It is even possible to win or place without getting checked. Consistency can do that.
But, it is possible to get checked and disqualified. It happens. We had two shooters on your ranges within a grain of being out. Do not take the chance. It is not worth it.
Range starts are controlled at the check points. I do not know if you noticed the little clickers at the tents. Those little clickers are how ranges are managed to keep the numbers balanced. We do not want 200 shooters on one range and 40 on another. You can see the problem there.Range numbers are set before the event based upon the previous event. MBO and someething on one set and HC' s on another set and so on. The numbers per range combination at Erie were to have approx. 475-525 per range combination.
Saturday went well considering the loss of Friday to the rain. So well that Sunday was like a ghost town up on the ranges. Had about 1400 shooters on the range Sat between 9 and 2.
Get ready for Nelsonville. Fields and hills. Hot and steep. The first two shoots were a bit easier than normal. That should warn you about what is coming.[>:]
Thanks to all that were there sharing the moisture with us.

Considering the weather, ,which was Ken' s fault, (God said it wasn' t his fault) the shoot was very well run. I did find one thing that surprised me and that was that I could not find a chrongraph on ABCD or EFGH prior to shooting. I asked and they told me that they didn' t have them this year after I went to the second range. I know that it was a misunderstanding because the next day it was at the courses that I had to shoot and I was able to check my speed before I shot. With the mud and number of shooters I think that was a small problem and the people were very courteous and helpful.
I think that the people posting the scores did an outstanding job during and after the shoot.
