RE: Check in tents
One thing they are not is lazy. They have guidelines that can change during a shoot. They are monitoring a percentage that takes the top scores coming in. It is possible to get missed. It is possible to get checked. It is even possible to win or place without getting checked. Consistency can do that.
But, it is possible to get checked and disqualified. It happens. We had two shooters on your ranges within a grain of being out. Do not take the chance. It is not worth it.
Range starts are controlled at the check points. I do not know if you noticed the little clickers at the tents. Those little clickers are how ranges are managed to keep the numbers balanced. We do not want 200 shooters on one range and 40 on another. You can see the problem there.Range numbers are set before the event based upon the previous event. MBO and someething on one set and HC' s on another set and so on. The numbers per range combination at Erie were to have approx. 475-525 per range combination.
Saturday went well considering the loss of Friday to the rain. So well that Sunday was like a ghost town up on the ranges. Had about 1400 shooters on the range Sat between 9 and 2.
Get ready for Nelsonville. Fields and hills. Hot and steep. The first two shoots were a bit easier than normal. That should warn you about what is coming.[>:]
Thanks to all that were there sharing the moisture with us.
