Default Question drop away rests!

Can drop away rests make an arrow fly erratic like going high or dropping? Or is this only a release or form problem? Any helpful tips on drop away rests? I just started shooting a New Montana Black Gold drop away rest “Trap Door”. I am having some high and low problems but no left or right problems with arrow placement.

I shoot a TrophyTaker and have had no rest related problems. If I have a high or low it' s me, not the rest.

Your erratic arrow flight may be due to improper arrow length.

Well ive tried a couple of drop aways. i have had more left and right problems than high and low. I think that ur shaft might not be staying on the rest long enough before the rest is dropping .That is my opinion.I think ill just stick to the old golden key 3d rover it works fine.

Nimrod, less friction would mean more spead, however I would expect to be minimal at best. Just hold steady and pull through, it' ll get there quick enough.

I found the answer for the eratic arrow flight high. There is a sensitivity adjustment on the " Trap Door" It was not falling away at times. I lightened up the tension on this and my groups have improved dramatically.

I called a pro who is in touch with the makers of the " trap door" that gave me the tip.

I am glad to have this problem solved as I lost or destroyed 6 cxl 250' s in the process of shooting high.
