Once again, where has the PGC stated that recently?
while the PGC claims it has increased.
In 2003 the PGC said we had a PS herd of 1.6 M deer , up from 1.3K in 2001 and according to the PGC the 2003 harvest kept the herd stable . Note, when they announced the 2004 harvest , there was no mention as to whether the OWDD increased or decreased. They will probably announce that when they announce the anterless allocations for 2005.

I don't know about you guys but in the northern part of the state there is no deer. I remember 25 years ago my first trip when I was 12 opening day I saw 57 deer and last season I saw 10 in 3 long days all day hunts not coming back to camp. Now nothing has changed in that area no new housing nothing.I live in the south eastern part of the state and there are plenty of deer but the old tradition of going to deer camp days are becoming a thing of the past.I have friends that hunt Cameron county 10 hunters 3 days 4 deer seen. Something wrong the need to do away with same seasons break up buck and doe season again.Well thanks for letting me vent.

You are asking the wrong question. The question you should be asking is,when was the last time the PGC said our harvest decreased the OWDD and that was in 2001 ,when an anterles harvest reduced the OWDD by 8%.
Therefore, it appears that the herd has been reduced by more than 32% since 2001, while the PGC claims it has increased.
Once again, you occasionally bring up a good point or two but most of the time you embellish and distort to help yourself make one point or another. As often happens, part of your post was simply not true making the whole thing questionable at best.
Dont try to mislead and you wont get called on it!

You said that the PGC "claims it has increased" when they indeed have NOT claimed an increase in the herd in 03/04 OR 04/05
BTW, DR. Rosenberry just admitted there were problems with the new computer model and they don't really know if there were 1.6M PS deer in 2003. That is exactly what I have been saying all along and once again the PGC is proving I was right.

this is rediculous, any body out there that says there are no deer in PA it is all in your head there are plenty of deer here, there are even more deer than there should be here, typical pennsylvania people on this forum for the most part would rather see 100 does and a spike per day than see 5 deer in a week and 2 of them be P&Y

But the fact is that 2 out of five deer will never be P & Y buck in PA , but if they were the hunters sure wouldn't be complainining. The fact is only 1% (9.4 K) of the hunters in the state harvested a 2.5+ buck due to AR's while 79 K didn't harvest a buck due to the combined effects of HR and AR's. Thats why hunters are complaining.
