For heavily populated areas, archery season for does should come in sept 15th and run to jan 31 and never go out. The other normal seasons can run thier course otherwise.

I agree that we dont want to do anyhting to hamper the kill in heavily developed and overpopulated areas. Here's something to consider. Removing rifles from the heavily developed areas might also make it easier to get landowner permission. Maybe not immediately but over time. JMHO.

I dont really favor any expansion of the shotgun only zones, just resigned to the idea that it may be inevitable and wouldn't be inclined to fight it too hard.

Rybo is right about expanding archery for doe only in these areas. In many cases it's the only feasible option other than the sharpshooter option.

I live in NY and in our area and a large part of the entire state is shotgun only. We have no problem controlling deer numbers.

In some of those SRA's where shotgun is required it is also buckshot only as well.My home state is shotgun so I will still go up to camp and hunt whitetails....
