What I should have said at first is that we are likely to see shotguns only first appear in the remainder of 2B and 5C and 5D
Wrong again. WMU 5 D is already entirely shotgun only so it can not be expanded in that WMU. If they include the remainder of 5C and 2b ,it should also be extended to 5 B.

I bet you could nail a lot of bowhunters for using the 50 yd safety zone in the areas of 2B that aren't special regulations areas. I just looked up the regs and it states only the counties listed as special regs it applies to. I have heard SOOOO many people just refer to 2B as a whole as special regs.

Geez, I think everyone here knew what I meant.
I just said I stand corrected and I also said I didnt know the eastern SRA's that well.

How's this: The first place likely to see a shotgun only restriction (IMHO) is the rest of the WMU's around our two major cities. Is that good enough?

Maybe you need to lighten up, take a chill pill, go have a beer

I'm asking, not declaring. God knows I dont want to get DD's panties in a bunch again! But didnt they take the archery safety zone to 50 statewide this year?

You seem to take great pleasure in picking my posts apart even though they are based on PGC data. I am simply returning the favor. Furthermore, for your information ,I had a beer with dinner, a SC Old Fashion with pineapple as an after dinner drink and a Black Russian as a night cap.

But, the fact remains that the areas with te highest OWDD's are the SRA COUNTIES and implementing shotgun only in additional areas will only make the problem worse. More people are killed by deer related car accidents each year that are killed due to accidental shootings of non-hunters,during deeer season.

The safety zone for all archers is 50 yards, statewide. Signed into law June 23, 2004.

I do agree with ddear that if rifles are removed completed from the heavily populated areas of the state then the deer population is going to boom....unless other measures are taken to help counteract that problem. Some hunters may go out and convert their shotguns for deer use but then some may just pack it in entirely. With the possibility of fewer hunters out there and the shorter effective range of a shotgun then deer numbers are highly unlikely to be reduced. What possible solutions or strategies can you folks come up with to help reduce the large deer herd in heavily populated areas?
