No Sunday hunting, and with our liberal state and governor, probably not in the near future. Too much ignorance to look at it objectively.

Hell will be long froze over before there will ever be hunting on Sunday in NJ. As long as the North Jersey liberals run the state, forget it.

Nothing new and surprising there. In Mid 80's Sunday waterfowling was all set to be approved and then Dem Karcher (forgive me if I spelled it wrong ,it's been awhile). There was enough votes to pass the bill but he refused to allow a vote to come up on the floor and it died after a deadline that passed.
NJ used to be a nice state , but with the influx of NY 'rs,Mt Laurel Decisiomn and when Florio was govt elect I left for good.

Does anyone know if there is some benefit to having that one day each week with no hunting pressure? Sunday hunting is not allowed here in Maine either so I was wondering if there might be some good management reason for it rather than just another attempt by the anti crowd to cut back on hunting or the idea of that being exclusively God's day.

It was the Blue Laws allowing nothing on Sundays, most or all of the others have been changed, but we all know how hard it is to change anything that would result in MORE hunting opportunities.
Everywhere else in the country, no, the world, that allows hunting wonders why the Northeast has this silly laws, and the game managers in other states say there are absolutely no negativee effects.

Maine Hunter,
I'll bet 80-90% of all deer taken in NJ are taken on Saturdays. Sunday hunting would raise the number of deer taken dramatically but still wouldn't come close to hurting the deer herds around here.
There would probably be lots of complaining from residents coming home from church and seeing dead deer tied to cars at the diner.

What do you mean Sunday hunting, haven't you heard, McGreedy and his anti kronis are outlawing hunting next year. The game commissions leader is retiring and a committee of antis are replacing him. McGreedy is quoted as being a staunch anti, with statements about the bloodlust us hunters have. I will be moving to PA in the spring.
