Default Can't find my buck

About 2 days before the season opened I was on my computer. I looked out the window and staring back at me was an 8 point buck about 20 yds away. That is the last I've seen of it. I've been hunting about 5 times now. I've seen about 6 or 7 doe but no buck. Do they normally stay in the same area or will they wonder alot? This is my first year hunting and don't know a whole lot about it so excuse me if this is a stupid question. Thanks for your help.

During this time of year deer will travel for mile looking for does. The best way to hunt now is find a funnel and set up for a buck passing through.

If the rut has completed, bucks will once again begin their search for food. They had little more on their mind than hot does a few weeks back but now it's back to feeding. I would concentrate on food sources. The seconday rut will kick in about 28 days later and this will keep a buck interested in those does that were not mated. It's my opinion, this intensity will be a lot less and food will once again be the highest priority. Find the food, find the deer.
