Default Catskills Question

Hi All,
What is the deal with the deer in Catskills (3A)? I have deer visiting my property (2-3 does) only late at night 2 times a week. Whenever I go hiking and scouting I merely find any tracks. Just a few here and there.
Where are the deer usually bed? Are they bedding on the tops and comming down at night? There are thousands of acres bordering the back of my property, and I expected to see a little more action than that. I hunted the area at least 10 times and the only deers I saw once were 2 does going up hill at 4 a.m.
Any feedback?

Thanks

The deer per sq mile in 3a is very low because of winter kill. 1.0 bsqm is very low. The above link is for the 04 forcast.
