Default NY, can you feel it?!?

Who is looking forward to saturdays northern zone regular opener? I can't wait to get out there with my new 30-06. I get done with classes on tuesday and then im headed home for a weekend in the woods. Havent seen that many deer around this fall, but i havent had much time to get out and look. But i hear there is a nice 10 point running around my house, and i havent heard anything about the other family land we hunt, both are in 6G.

I AM PUMPED!!

I won't be around for the reg season opener, but I did get a nice doe on opening day muzzleloader. Great feeling! Beautiful tan coat and very healthy; lots of fat reserves. I butchered it up an just finished grinding the venison burger after letting it age since Saturday night. The outdoor temp was mid forties so a few days aging was enough. The tenerloins went dow real easy. This was an Ellisburg deer in 6G. There appear to be a good number of deer this year, judging from the preseason sightings along the roads. Idon't see as many now,as they are coming out later. Shot mine around 5:40 pm on the 16th.
