am i reading this information right that the first day of rifle is Dec 2-14?
"DEER (Antlered and Antlerless) Statewide: Dec. 2-14. One antlered deer per hunting license year. An antlerless deer with each required antlerless license. Junior hunters may use their general license tag to take an antlerless deer in any county of the state. Legal antlered deer in the counties of Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Crawford, Erie, Indiana, Lawrence, Mercer, Washington and Westmoreland must have a minimum of four points to one antler. In all other counties, legal antlered deer must have a minimum of three points to one antler."

can this be true about that dates?

Welcome aboard buckonthehill
Yup, those are the dates. All seasons work forward or back from Thanksgiving and it's late this year. Last year was as early as it gets and this year it's as late as it can be.

when does the rut come in for deer?
this could be a good this and bad b/c there maybe snow on the ground to follow and track the deer and may give better scouting before opening day.
i do like the new thing about the antlers are there any things i can read up on about how long this takes to get good quality deer herd or somthing?

Buck on the hill, I would give it a couple years before we see some great results. We need to get rid of a lot of these does before the herd is more in balance. When it does we will have some great hunting.
