Didnt know if you all had heard, but De. is thinking of changing how the license is set up.
First you have to buy your regular lic. with two doe tags attached. Then if you want to harvest a Buck, you have to buy a "Hunters Choice" tag good for Buck or Doe. They are trying to reduce the number of young bucks being harvested. This will generate 50,000 to 100,000 in money to be used for hunter ed. or other management programs.
I dont think it will work. I believe people will pay the 10.00 for the tag and just kill their buck.
They are holding a meeting on Feb. 27 at the DNREC auditorium Richardson and Robbins building 89 Kings Hwy Dover.. They suggest you call to reserve a seat at 302-739-5297. I plan to go.
what are your thoughts????
Forgot...meeting starts at 7PM

Ken Reynolds of the Division of Fish and Wildlife will present "The History and Status of Delaware Deer;" Brian Murphy of the National Quality Deer Management Association will discuss "Quality Deer Management and How It May Benefit Delaware;" and Dr. Mark Conner of Chesapeake Farms will present "A Case Study on Quality Deer Management on DelMarva." These presentations will be followed by a question and answer session.
I went to last years presentation and Dr. Connors case study is very eye opening. The potentional of Delamarva is awesome!!! Sounds like it will be crowded!!!
