Default New fall turkey season for juniors proposed!

Just saw this on the PGC website. HB 2339 proposes a three day fall turkey season for juniors anywhere open for a fall season on Thanksgiving day and the Friday and Saturday after. Sounds like a win-win to me! Anything that has even the remotest chance of keeping juniors interested that also doesn't jeopardize the resource is a good idea.
This is the first I've heard of this. Did I miss something or is this a new develpoment??

Gotta admit Gimp, you have a very good point. One I would probably ahve picked up myself if it had been a proposal I thought was bad for the sport. But you are 100% right. Good or bad for the sport, it shouldn't come from the politicians.
Thanks for the reality check

I agree with Gimpy. We are organizing to kill this bill. Many of the sponsors of this bill are the same people that are trying to get the secondary use bill through. Once they set the precedent with a youth hunt, and who could object, they can start of stop seasons as they see fit. Think of anti-hunting legislators or pro-inline or crossbow ones. Lets allow the system to function as it has been set up by law. If you want a new season, you submit it to the board of commissioners like everyone else.

Thank you Gimpy.

Melody of the PFSC is again leading the charge on this house bill.

They have been a good friend of the hunter and fisherman in Pa. and deserve our support. Take a look at their web site please.
