Hunters moon came about many years ago. it was the time of the year that harvest time was here. The Indians used the full moon to gain a advantage on killing deer at night under the moon light. In general you see less deer on hunters moon then at the normal hot times. They feed all night and then between 11 am and 2 pm rather then the early morning and right before dark. Things have just shutdown around here. did not see a deer all day yesterday compared to 20 to 30 everyday prior to the full moon

Huh... That' s interesting cardeer. So will the days pick back up on the waining moon? How bout the new moon? More activity during the day since it' s so dark at night?

Phade and Cardeer are correct, here are the names of all the full moons during the year.

I' m not sure, I' ll have to go back and re-read the article; but I thought that the Hunter' s moon was the second full moon after the autumnal equinox? Which would make it Nov. 8th.......
