Default Maryland city buying mute swans

I just read in the paper where Hagerstown is paying $600 to $800 for 4 mute swan for the city park.

If you didn't know it these Non-native birds are causing millions of dollars in damage by destroying the sub-aquatic vegetation on the bay. They are aggressive during breeding season to the point that people have needed medical treatment.
Last year a bill was passed to allow hunting of the birds but DNR has not allowed it because they said they don't have the funds. This year a bill is up asking the USFWS to help control the birds.

Once again DNR is operating on emotions and not science by granting the city permission to get the birds.

For $150 a bird, I'll go get them some more.

We've been trying to get rid of them up here. Have them call Vt and we will ship a couple out for free.
