Hey DJ Whats up.
Nice talking to you on the opener
I am in the land of Dinks this year Besides that small 7 I had under me in the morning, I had another small six under me in the afternoon.
A couple does on thursday and thats it.
They don' t seem to be moving or doing much of anything.
I will be out this weekend
Good Luck

I only hunted in the afternoon. I saw 5 deer 2 does, 2 button bucks and a small doe fawn. I also went out this evening and there was somebody in the spot I wanted to go so I went to some state land and didn' t see anything. This weekend should be a zoo. Good luck

RE: how was your opening day
Good to see some familiar town names on here.
My opener here on the Island was a good one for me. I shot a nice 7 pointer the first hour in the stand and actually passed on 3 smaller bucks right after I shot the 7.
On Saturday morning took a " basket" 13 pointer out of the same stand. (it was 11 legit points and 2 small ones, all longer than an inch though)
I will post some pictures this evening hopefully.
The deer have actually been moving real well so far, but the area I hunt has a bunch of new hunters in it this year and they are quickly messing things up.
I' ll keep you all posted as the season progresses. Good luck.

RE: how was your opening day
all i have been seeing is a lot of does all the bucks we have been seeing are gone i think they were pressured to much on the first few opening days but i am still trying day in and day out thinking of trying me a new spot i didnt scout but i dont see anyone hunting there and i saw a VERY NICE buck there last year and he had three legs. i figure no one is hunting there they will not be as pressured
