As for the deer herd in 2b, which i mostly hunt, i would have to say its increasing, people make the mistake hunting the only gameland (wexford) and seeing no deer because its hunted so hard. Your best bet at this time is get a few buddies and drive out the small woodlots where all the deer are herded up. Saturday is the last day, dreading the season to be over, 6 of us are driving all day hoping to get some shooting! best of luck to all who is going out!

I leave my stands up, plenty of Coyote hunting to be had! Other than the horns being off the bucks, this is the best time of year to be in the woods as far as i am concerned. You can see so much motre in the snow. It seems the chickadees and birds just seem to be more animated.

Got out for a few hours tonight. Saw one deer. It was still packin both horns a looked like a young 7 or 8 pointer. He was only a yearling and I was bow hunting anyway. He looked good and healthy and will no doubt be a shooter next season

I spent several days fishing last week on creeks in the State College-Reading corridor, and was quite surprised with the amount of deer I saw in fields, along hedgerows, etc. Near prison property at " the Rock ", I saw what was, is, and if it lives the winter will be a SLAMMER next year. Half a rack w/6pt, big gut buck. Guessing age I'd say 4 1/2. Not far from Fisherman's Paradise.
