Yea, and the ones that break game laws don't necessarily have to come from any of those groups I mentioned.

That's your problem. You like to stick your two cents in when you have no clue of what has been discussed. Please show me where I "IMPLIED" that "ALL" hunters fall under the description of greedy slobs? If they do however, pull some of the unethical stuff pats has witnessed,or sproul has witnessed and what others have witnessed. Then yes,I label them a greedy slob. Again, don't you?

I agree that I may have picked on you a little out of context and perhaps my comments should have been directed more at others who are particapating on this thread. My fault for not paying attention to who was saying what but, I do have a clue as to what was being said. My reading comprehension is just fine and I did read the entire thread. I know what has been discusssed and these forums are for each of us to express our own, "two cents". If you don't like mine, thats tough because I am going to express it. Get over it.

pats, most dont feel they are doing a bad thing .they have kid with big sad eyes looking up wanting a buck or watch as they leave a buck go counting points and it goes to a new jersey hunter and he gets it.that happened to a few buck this year from crews i know as of yesterday.
soooooooooooooooo, they shoot and do the things i have stated.if it was 3 points to side for all of us ,i would bet that it would put a real good stop to most of this.

That might have something to do with the entitlement mentality some hunters have. They feel they are owed a deer.

I hope you are right and these people are in the minority, but I seen a lot of stunts over the years guys tried to pull off which would lead me to think otherwise.

You are right sproul, there are a lot of good sportsman around. But it was the greedy ones that made me quit rifle hunting a long time ago. And from what I have seen, especially the past 5 or so years. Looks like maybe the greed is taking over?

What did the, "greedy ones" do to you a long time ago that caused you to quit hunting with the rifle?

First I lost all desire to shoot a deer with a rifle. So with that, that's when I built my first flintlock and used it in gun season. Opening day,I hit a buck, it stumbles but gets up and slowly goes over a crest. I follow the blood trail right to the deer, with two other hunters already at the deer and one of them already fieldressing the deer. Funny,no other shot fired! Following year was even better. Shoot a buck with the flintlock, the buck is just pushing itself along with it's hind legs. I'm staying eight feet behind this deer as it's crawling while trying to reload. A greedy slob!,comes running off the hill and empties his clip from his pump rifle into a crawling deer with me eight feet behind it. Then he started screaming,"the deer was still on it's feet", "I'm the last to shoot", "by law it's my deer." Prior to that,I've witnessed other acts of greed. Similar to those shared by pats and sproul. Those last two years in the woods rifle season was the so called, icing on the cake as to why I quit. That was 30 years ago and truthfully, I haven't looked back since.Don't miss it at all.
