For you the case was closed before it started since you won't take a buck that is barely legal,so you never had a dog in this fight. But I am sure thousands of other hunters who are satisfied with any buck would like to know how the law is being enforced. Or, would you prefer that hunters just assume any point will be considered to be legal and the WCO will give them a break if it isn't 1"?

bluebird,YOU WON.rule is is 1 INCH.if point is not 1 inch ,its not legal.question is on this buck with broken off point that was most likely 8 inchs long with broken area 1 inch or close left on beam, would a wco take exception to this ADULT buck.

i would not think so.if that area was smooth on beam with nothing sticking up on that ADULT buck, yes i would expect to be arrested .
this is why so many are getting the kids tags, they dont have to worry about this if it happens, they just shoot.
i saw crew shooting at adult buck that had only 2 points on side and no brow tines. i saw this buck on sunday before opening of season.i even told them that this buck was in my area and to be on look out for him.its horns were very big about 18 inch spread.what did adults in crew do?they shot at him running accross pipeline in front of me going to my truck.
i was so mad i started yelling at them.they said they were going to turn me in for yelling at them while hunting.
well they did not because i would have told wco that they are using the kids tags.
i bet they dont come back next year to that spot.

sorry i got off topic.

And I still don't have any idea how you enforce the law ,since you won't tell us.

If the reason for AR is to harvest mature buck, why can't they age them by their teeth in borderline cases like this?

But that is not the reason that was given for ARs. It was to increase breeding rates, recruitment and to reduce the breeding window. According to Alt shooting older a buck was just an after thought.

Every buck on that page was clearly legal, and thanks for reminding all of us what the benefits of AR can be.

That may be your opinion , but there is no way you can determine the length of those points based on the pics provided.

You must be looking at a different page than I am then. Every buck I see is clearly legal in every part of the state. What are you looking at?

How do you measure the length of point on a rack posted on the net?
