First of all; how many deer can one hunter and his family reasonably consume in a season? Also, how many people actually butcher($$) their deer in NJ? I mean for God' s sake, the earn a buck and guys blasting 10 deer a season just makes me sick. I generally shoot either 1 or 2 deer a year b/c that is all I can consume. As for bringing the deer to a Hunters Helping the Hungry; I would love to do that but there are none in my Zone or even close.
I am all for managing the doe/buck ratio but it has gotten to the point where it is now an outright slaughter. I have seen big drives in Central NJ where everyone shoots any deer that comes by and even gets ribbed for letting some go! What' s up w/that?
Sorry for the vent but my friend in Illinois are just laughing at me as he can ONLY shoot 2 bucks and 1 doe per season. Look at the results.
Any way, after all the emails and hearings; nothing looks different for 2003.

BROADHEAD88, IF YOU AND YOUR DAD EVER LOSE YOUR LEASE, LET ME KNOW. I HUNT PUBLIC LAND, LOTS OF ROOM TO ROAM, NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH OTHER HUNTERS, AND ON TOP OF THAT, WE AREN' T FAR FROM EACH, CAN ALWAYS USE ANOTHER GOOD HUNTING PARTNER.

I live over by Flemington. The Deer over here are driving me crazy!! I see a least 8 deer every morning in my backyard. But I can' t shoot any due to the 400' rule. Damn, I wish I could get the BIG fat one! Plus look at County road 523, Interstate 78, 287, 202. All you see is Dead deer. I don' t care how many deer people take as long as they EAT what they take.
