Are you hearing any grouse drumming yet?

no, but i did learn a few things this winter in deep snow.

grouse were no where near the open areas or pipelines.

they were all deep in hollows in thick laural all together,sort of the way deer do when they yard up.

you could almost walk on them before they flushed.

almost all were below a pine tree where the snow is less.

i got chance to use my snow shoes too

deer i am seeing at feeders look very good, no ribs showing .

this was hard winter for all game.

hope we dont see one like this again for awhile.
