ORIGINAL: bluebird2 But we all know that if the deer created similar habitat by over browsing a clearcut and creating an open meadow ,it would be declared an ecological disaster which would require killing more deer. |

ORIGINAL: the outsider Well, I just found an explanation regarding Young Woman's Creek and Cross Forks Creek, and I don't like it: http://www.postgazette.com/pg/06113/684398-140.stm longtime ago i commented about barbs on hooks in streams. those BARBS on our hooks are killing many fish, not only trout but bass. all barbs should be outlawed on all streams. i bend all my down with pliars. i see more dead native trout in streams because of the barbed hook,a ton of little 5 inch native trout. bait is bad one,you will deep hook a native trout, a native trout will swallow a bait deeper than a stocked trout. dont laugh, sproul knows.;) i complained for years INour bass tournaments about BARBED HOOKS. its like talking to moon, they said.SPROUL I AM NOT LOOSING A FISH DO TO YOUR STUPID IDEA, I GOT TO WIN THAT TROPHY:) most kids dont know how to release a trout. they have never been taught. its just grab hook and yank it out.tongue and all. adults and kids dont carry forcheps, some do. i dont believe the native trout in bigger streams are hurt to much at beginning of season. most use bait then or lures and only catch the stockies. as summer comes, everyone uses flys and very few native trout are killed. its in small streams the first month of april that the native trout take a beating. it breaks my heart to see 6 or 7 dead 4 inch trout in small creeks from using BARBED HOOKS . |
