Here in the SE a hunters biggest problem is access. Reducing the safety zone for bow hunters to 50 yards was a big help. Including crossbows in archery season, should also help in the areas where they weren't legal in the past. But once those yellow signs go up, they never come down again. If you don't own your own land or know a friend that does, you are restricted to hunting SGL, which are already overhunted in most areas.

Our hunter had to head to the big woods if they wanted the freedom of hunting a large track of land and to get away from the crowds. There are those who think that those big woods hunters, are stay at home to hunt, they are half right, these hunters are stay home but not buying a license.

If the PGC wants to retain and recover hunters, they must increase the herd in the big woods. Once these hunters are gone for good, so are their sons, grandsons and those that come after them. Cutting the number of days for antlerless deer by 5 days is a start, but more has to be done to make the big woods the choice of PA hunters.

If something isn't done soon and our numbers keep decreasing, this whole HR is going to backfire in the PGC's face. They will end up with not enough hunters to control the herd and end up back where they started before HR. It's my understanding, that a lot of hunters in WMU 5C, get tired of killing deer andstop hunting for the season.

You know what they are, so Im not gonna digify your rediculous denial by once again pointing them out.

I screwed up previously and mistakenly attributed a post to you that was actually someone else and you immediately sought out, found, and posted the proof. I recanted and apologized because it was the right thing to do. It very obviously made your day when it happened. If you had a way to prove me wrong this time you would be leaping at the oportunity

If the "too much" you speak of includes accepting that hr is not a significant factor which is a fact, then your correct. WAYYYY too much.

Facts are facts. When people tell me they are sick of the bs.. Its a fact, not my opinion that I am hearing it. When they say they are finished because they are sick of it...Same deal. THere have also been people on here and other boards saying exactly the same. Its also fact satisfaction is a main factor in retention and recruitment. Its also fact satisfaction has declined tremendously directly attributed to hr.

Also When people said theyd like to put a bullet in Alt and he had to start wearing a bullet proof vest, or when pgc is being sued....or prevented license fee increase.... Yet pgc thinks people are willing to go those extremes, yet people arent gonna quit because of those same fraction deer densities? Thats not fact. Thats not opinion. Thats just plain flippin' nutz!!!! LOLOLOLOOLOLOL

that I posted on page two didn't you understand?
But you deny that the drop in junior hunters is related to the decrease in the herd, when junior license sales were increasing as the herd was increasing.

Truck, of course the answer isnt for pgc to actually manage responsibly for the appropriate numbers of deer! (LOL) We should all just start hunting squirrel! Sounds exactly like Carl Roe.

I enjoyed a little squirrel hunting as a youth, but still knew what the "real deal" was, and it wasnt oak-weasels.But I spent far more time archery hunting for deer. I had good teachers and very successful even early on. If you'd have asked me toswitch to tree-rats Id have laughed my backside off.
corne
just shows you dont know squat squirrel gets them started
fall turks is a great time for a new hunter to get started also
althou there not big brown it can be a enjoyable hunt for them
alot of it has to do with the child also

WHo is gonna start them on the squirrels when the parents are quitting because of the deer? Also I have no problem with kids first time hunting being for squirrel. But that is ALL it is. An introduction imho. And according to pgcs stats in gamenews the numbers of small game hunters are relatively small. If people dont want to hunt them, then they dont want to hunt them.....And all Pgcs teeth gnashing in the world isnt gonna change it.

Wether you like it or not DEER make the Pa hunting world go round and DEER pay the bills as well. You may hunt all the treerats you like, and Id love for you to come to my area and shoot them all. They are a nusiance. (LOL) Besides, they are a waste of good acorns that could be reserved for the D-E-E-R! LOL.

Hunting squirrel is no reasonable substitute for proper deer management.
