Thanks for proving my point that you are concerned about nothing but producing deer no matter what the impact on the habitat or other wildlife.
I did not prove your point because I never said the herd in 2G or 2F should be managed at 40 DPSM.
That may well be happening on some properties. Some landowners and timber interests are short sighted just like the USP and co is short sighted about deer management. That is the decision of the property owners and not yours or mine. Second, what does that have to do with how the PGC manages deer numbers
The point is that if timbering results in high grading and a change of species composition, it will occur despite the reduced deer densities.

Could you answer my question, or do you choose to ignore it?
So you would advocate total decimation of preferred browse on a sustained basis?
And again, could you answer Bob's question as well?
You really didn't say what your DD OW goal would be.
I await your response.

Of course I wouldn't advocate that and that is why I said I didn't support managing the herd in 2G at 40 DPSm.

The quality of the habitat determines the natural balance and some areas may only be able to support 20 DPSM while other areas may be able to carry 40 DPSM.
That is my answer to BTB's question. WMU's that are 90% forested may only be able to carry 20 DPSM and still get adequate regeneration of preferred species ,while WMU's with a significant percentage of active or reverting farmland may be able to support 40 DPSM. And, if you remember the PGC's previous goals were the exact opposite. WMU 2g goals was 15 DPSM while 5C was 6 DPSM and 5B was 5 DPSM.

That is you opinion ,which is not supported by the facts. I am basing my position on research conducted by the same researcher the PGC relies on for formulating their plan. When you start supporting your opinions with fact, I will start giving your opinions some credibility.
