Since I now work for the feds I have Veterans day off. Never had that before (and I'm a vet!) so I am pumped. Weather looks to be good, and I am expecting some good pre rut activity.
Yeah, this weekend doesn't look great weather wise. Unless it's a washout I'll be out there. Can't shoot em' from the couch!

Took this buck yesterday morning. He just came by feeding, not showing any signs of rutting except his swollen neck but they are chasing the does all over the place as we have witnessed it all week. This buck must have just been tired or exhausted as it was the hottest day in a long time, 70 degrees.

Way to go. I'm going out Monday and Tuesday. Hopefully they'll still be chasing. I'm going out and dropping a Doe Estrus bomb and hoping for the best. At this point I'd just like to tag a nice doe.

Congrats Rick!
My Dad and I got out yesterday but the woods where we hunt were dead. I was surprised to not see at least one deer, but thats how it goes sometimes.
I'm thinking about going out this afternoon... but it all depends on the weather and how I feel. I have a test I need to study for.[:@]

I shot a 146 pound 9 point Friday morning, he came into a grunt call but seemed more curious that aggressive. I would say next weekend things should be boiling nicely.

Seen lots of scrape where I bow hunt and more deer moving. Shot a doe on Saturday morning on my way home from work, that makes four for the year so far all with my bow. During the first part of the season I saw several bachlor groups of bucks, and two bruiser bucks where I bow hunt.
