Deer Butcher in Central MD?
Can anybody here make a recommendation on where to take a deer for processing in Central MD?I usually quarter mine and then take them to a butcher. I'm looking for a good, reputable one.
Thanks!

I live in Montgomery Village in Montgomery County. There absolutely zero processors in Montgomery County. The closest to me is in Mt. Airy. I plan on using Knott's Butcher Shop 301-829-9448.
You can find their address and other Processors addresses here http://www.dnr.state.md.us/wildlife/meatproc.asp

Just moved to Montgomery Co myself and was asking the same question. So Iwas able to geta card from the sales person in the hunting dept at Dick Sports for a processor in Silver Spring. He said he has used him for the past 3 yrs and likes his work. I called him and he is still operational and accepting deer this season. Here is his info....

Boarman's Market on the corner of Rt 108 and Rt 216 in Highland (Howard County) will actually process deer, but they have become somewhat more restrictive since they put in a new freezer a year or two ago. As I understand it, the deer now needs to be skinned and quartered before they'll take it. I was never thrilled with their service anyway - they actually lost one of my deer once. Who knows what I wound up with...
I've been using Austin's Deer Processing in Hanover for the last couple of years, and I've been pretty happy with their service.

I have a couple quarters up at Boarmans right now that I have to pick up. They told me the same thing; skinned and quartered which is fine with me. However, when I went there to drop off a hind and front quarter a week ago they had 2 deer there that were skinned and not quartered. Oh well.
I like Austins too, but it's far for me and more expensive.
