After a 5 year break from deer hunting, due to new job and time constraints, I have signed on for a lease hunt in St. Lawrence Co. in early Nov. Was just looking for some input from you local guys up there on how the herd is and how the hunting has been. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I used to run beardogs in the country around Potsdam, I never dear hunted the country but can tell you that the farm country that is just off the Adrck park line has some good buck there. Lots of deer and bear. I think it gets hunted hard but there still seems to be good buck taken every year in the valley....

Potsdam area is excellent, lots of agriculture and plenty of deer and turk's. Rather than lease you should consider knocking on a few amish farm doors and offer up the meat for hunting right's. Generally many will let you hunt the farms and often give you info on what the have been seeing. Good luck
