Default House Bill #2315 to Allow Sunday Hunting In Massachusetts

There is currently a bill in the House that was proposed by Rep. Anne Gobi (D- Spencer) that would repeal the old blue law prohibition on Sunday hunting in Massachusetts. Below is a link to the detail of the bill. It is short and to the point.

http://www.mass.gov/legis/bills/house/185/ht02pdf/ht02315.pdf

I don't know if this bill has a chance of passing, but I know that if we do nothing it will never pass. I read about this in an article that was in my town reminder. If I hadn't seen the article I would not even know of the existence of this bill, though when I search the Internet, all of the anti websites have it posted. [:-]

The paper put forward the question "Do you feel the ban on Sunday hunting should be repealed and why?" You can email your signed responses to [email protected].

If you want to hunt on Sunday send off some emails to your Reps and the paper. The sportsmen (and women) paid for the land through the land stamp and we should be able to use the land. Face it the average working person works Monday-Friday which leaves Sat. to hunt. It would be nice for the average person to have two full days to hunt, without having to burn vacation.

I didn't have a clue that this bill existed either. Hello to you fellow bay stater. i also can't stand the fact that Saturdays are my only days to hunt, unless i can take off early from work, or take vaca time. I'm going to have to look further into this. Thanks for the post.

Congratulations to you guys for getting some legislation that will hopefully fix the no hunting onsundays rule. What is the reasoning for the law anyways. Your state should know that it's the 21st century and realize what the "people" want. Good luck guys!

From what I understand this bill has gone to comittee to die. It is really a shame that the anti's seem to have better communication on this legislation than we do.

There is noway this thing will pass in MA. If they could ban hunting, guns, toothpicks, and raise taxes they would! Of course now the socker moms are all upset because there are too many deers and the kids get lyme desease or even worse the beaver are our of control and the beatutiful lawns are ruined because of flood cause by the beaver dams.
