Saw some rutting behavior today...

I watched a nice buck (8 or 10 point) mount a doe. A little later I watched two small bucks, 4 or 6 point, sparring. They weren't really going at it like they sometimes do but they were both working up a lather and breathing hard. Two other, even smaller, bucks were standing around watching. Took a walk throug the woods and found a fresh scrape. I know it was fresh because I was just there on Monday and the scrape was not there. If the season is still open where you live it is still not too late!

Steve--I saw the same thing yesterday! I watched a big 8 or 10 point scent checking a bunch of does. One struck his fancy and he chased her away from me. I heard him grunt a few times as well.

I've noticed a couple of scrapes freshened up. My brother in law saw some red urine next to a set of doe and buck tracks. That's when we still had snow about a week or so ago. I saw some real fresh rubs today. I don't know if they're from the 3rd rut or bucks trying to lose their antlers.
