Are you kidding me? Haven't we been down this road a hundred times already?
So the undeniable "proof" is because the pumareasearch group (or whatever it was called) says they have "proof"? That's like the UFO research group telling us they found proofUFO's exist so we should all believe it. Wait a minute ...... do you believe there are UFO's too?[:-] How about bigfoot? There's bigfoot research groups too that I'm sure have compelling evidence.
wilds, this group found COUGARS evidencewhen our great game commission denies they EXIST.

UFO'S are the ones the stocked the coyotes.
Game commission hired them so they could get insurance company jobs when they retired.
I read it somewhere, so I know its true.

Think about it there are bear and bobcats in the woods. How often do you see one? There are many many bear around and you might see one or two a year. Bobcats are around in good numbers too you can track them but how often do you see one. I would say that if there are cougars around they probaly are not in great numbers. Makes sense to me why they are not seen often. And yes I do believe they are here in WV.

i am in woods more than most,4 days a week .
this year i saw 4 bears.
last 10 years, none.
3 years ago ,saw bobcat,
yet, bobcats are seen by others in same area.
i agree, cougars are not many, i believe they are wild cats, not released pets,i believe they roam from state to state and they are very elusive.

So elusive that no one has found a kill, which they would have to amke like once a week, nor has a trail cam been able to get a picture.
If they are wild cats doesn't it make sense they would establish territories across the country from where they have been established not just appear in Pa and not be in Ohio,NY etc?

Some tidbits from the site
Only as dangerous as other wild life eh, like a bunny rabbit?
Here's one of my favorites nice qualty map.
They were not to be feared, only admired for their craftiness and determination to survive in the white man's pursuit to rid North America of unwanted predators
Wild cougers, pumas, mountain lions, panthers are"NOT" man eaters. They should be treated as their name inplies, Wild, but they are nomore dangerous then any other type of wildlife.
Since 1965 eastern states with the largest number of credible reports are:
Pennsylvania- 1,400+ including 330 Black Panthers.
New York- 900+ including 250 Black Panthers
Maryland- 550+ including 105 Black Panthers.
West Virginia- 485+ including 100 Black Panthers.
Virginia- 300+ including 50 Black Panthers.
Michigan- 275+ including Black Panthers.

If you come upon a Puma in the wild talk to and think of it as a overgrown female house cat & keep eye contact!!!!!!!!!!!!
Remember it's a rare event to observe a Puma in it's natural habitat treat it as a honor not with fear.
