Tough break DEBob, I've had it happeen, and there's not much to say. Take heart in knowing he'll probably be out there next year with a wild nontypical rack.
I'll be down this weekend, hunt all day on Sat. I'm hunting a large thicket next to a huge field getting hit by a bunch every night. I'll stay most of the day, until 2:30, I know they'll be walking around the bedding area looking for a bite to eat around mid day. Then head out and set up on a trail used every year going out to the back corner of a small bean field. Found a huge shed there last year, and my buddy found another, I just need anything other than a South wind and I'm in business.

lemond, Good luck. The buck was a 9 point and would score in the mid 140's. I aimed low intentionally cause he was keyed up. Thought he would have ducked just a bit. My mistake!
Sika, Thanks. Sounds like a good set up. Hunting the same patterns here...thick pine patch bedding areas and trails leading to the food sources. Where I've had best luch here is a stand of white oaks in between bedding and feeding. Good luck!
