Anyone ever go to Anticosti Island?

RE: Anyone ever go to Anticosti Island?
Went in 1999. It was ok. Three of us went the middle of Sept. We shot four 8 pointers and two 6 pointers. Weight was between 120 and 135 pounds. I think it was about $1,800 US for everything. Here is a picture of the bucks I took. The 8 point was the biggest in camp.
For me, I would rather go to the mid-west. I think your chances of taking a really good buck is much better than Anticosti. If you go, you will see many deer and a fair number of bucks (mostly 6 pt and 8 pt). I would try to go in November during the rut. The accomodations were excellent and the food was fantastic. It was a little hard to communicate as the guides spoke mostly broken english.
You can read my account of the trip at this link:

By the way, we went through SEPAQ.

Been there a few years ago and have friends that go every year.
No one has never gotten 2 buck on any trip.
You will see a tremendous amount of deer. Many have a curious nature and dont spook as easily as our PA high pressured deer. I highly recomend the trip.
I must admit that we always go in the 1st or 2nd week of Nov. for maximum buck sightings.
I went through Anticosti Outfitters. It was a 5 star type environment. Our own chef for breakfast and gourmet dinners in a restuarant type setting. A bit pricey but woth every penny.
