Went out this morning and hunted till 10:30am. Did see or hear anything. My father hunted Woodland and nothing there as well. Not many shots at all. Guess the dumb ones are all dead <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>.
That might be it for me. Time to concentrate on Waterfowl.
Any day spent huntin, is better than any day spent workin,,

Snuck out of work early yesterday to get in an evening hunt. Made along walk to a secluded section of our property I had never hunted before..ended up seeing three bucks (all shooters) and about a half dozen does/fawns. No bucks in bow range! They all seemed to be alone cruising for hot does. One buck was working a rub (or rubs) behind me for about a half hour. Fun night...really, really calm. Could hear deer moving at a long distance! Lots of water on the ground! Not many shots fired around me! Good luck for the weekend!!!

I went out last night, didn;t see anything, but they were pounding away across the street on Bombay Hook, hopinmg something might cross Rt 9 into my area, but nothing did, went up the road about a mile with the boys to combine soybeans after dark and it was like being in a wildlife park, deer running everywhere, a couple nice bucks, but shooting hours were long over , might try that area today during legal hours.

I shot a NICE mature buck the 23rd. I hunted Friday night and saw nothin but rain for the first few hours then about at dusk i saw 15 deer come running full bore across the field about 250yds out. So saturday morning i decided to go down about 200 yds from the night before and since there was no stand there i was forced to sit on a 5 gallon bucket. but at about 6:30 a doe came running across the field a good 120yds from me so i got ready and no more than 30 seconds after that, This big 8 pointer came running so i got my gun up and he stopped and ran straight to me, when he got to about 60yds i took off the safety on the Knight T-Bolt Muzzleloader i was shooting and pulled the trigger. He took off full bore across the field and didnt even flinch so i was ticked off, so i reloaded, and walked down the row of trees until i saw him laying about 200yds away so i watched him and started grunting to see if i would get some movement out of him , he didnt move so i thought that i had got him. so a creeped across the field and when i got about 70yds from him he arched up and crossed the ditch! but i guess that is took a lot out of him cause he just stood broadside on the other side of the ditch so i put one through his lungs! when i got to the ditch bank there was blood EVERYWHERE so i got my hat off and marked the tree and waited for my friends to come help me, long story short i crossed the ditch and found him laying about 100yds in the woods, a nice 8 pointer 18.5 inch spread, weighed 205 live!
