License sales have been going down the last five years. If you go to the PGC website and do a search on licenses there is a report in there with a chart. My buddy had it up the other day.

Just to keep last year's drop in perspective, here are the previous five year's basic hunting license sales. This is only for the basic hunting license and does not include the various stamps, antlerless licenses or the furtaker license sales:

Muzzleloader license sales jumped 30 percent; junior resident combination license sales climbed 21 percent; and senior lifetime combination license sales were up 28 percent. Overall, unit sales increased by 5 percent and revenue increased 3 percent.
General hunting license sales in 2001 were up one percent compared to 2000 sales. Archery and muzzleloader license sales were up one percent and seven percent respectively. Overall, unit sales statewide remain steady at 2.5 million licenses. 2001 license revenues exceeded $35 million.

Why doesn't the data include "antlerless licenses" ???
Shouldn't Antlerless Lic sales be included in the total Lic sales data that has been presented here as going down.

This is obviously a large part of PA's declining sales. we are just slightly behind the national average in recruiting our youth but the problem is countrywide.

Interesting info.Noted that PA was "very restrictive" in its youth hunting requirements.
Suppose that could be a legit cause for lower sales??
This is all a moot issue.From reading previous posts it appears ALL PA Lic sales are yet tallied.So how can PGC Lic sales be down if all sales have not been tallied??
I'm sure its all a conspiracy by the PGC.
