Bear skull

I just picked up my bears skull from the taxidermist. The preliminary score that he came up with was 22 5/8". Not bad for a New Jersey Bear ! I just received a list of official B&C scorers and will contact one soon.

Congrats!! 22 and 5/8" is a great score on a northeast bear. How many pounds was he and was it north or south Jersey?? That would be a beast in my neck of the woods.

Mike,
I took him in North West Jersey in Sussex County. FG&W weighted him in at over 530 lbs dressed.

That's a huge blackie anywhere, esp for Northeast! Great score. Any pics of him and the skull?
I've shot a couple of good ones... but I cannot even imagine what that brute must have looked like coming in!
