Finally!
Well it has been a great season and last Friday I put the exclamation mark on the season with a nice 9 point.
I had 2 doe in early, and was going to shoot the big one, but they spooked. 10 minutes later at about 7:15AM I saw a huge body moving my way, head on. It turns out to be nice buck. He comes in and lays down 40 yards away behind some saplings. So i just sit on the edge of my climber seat and wait. At 7:30 I had a 4 point come in behind me and move on, but the 9 point never noticed him. At 7:35 a spike came in, but made a lot of noise in the leaves. The big buck noticed him and immediately go up and started after him. He got on the trailto my left side and I grunted when he was broad side and he stopped right behind a tree. I help until he stepped out and nailed him in the liver.
The strange part wasI watched him walk off andout of sight. About 10 minutes laterI hear this crashing in the leaves and here he comes just violently runnig back into may areabouncing off tress and getting caught up in saplings. He finally fell about 50 yards from and layed there and died. Made for easy tracking.
I would post pic but everything i try it says it is too large! Sorry!

RE: Finally!
He never even knew he was shot probably. When he started to get weak he began to panic and tried to run back to his "safe place" where he was bedded. My favorite is when they run all the way to the truck and collapse.
Congrats.
E-mail me the pic and I will resize it and post it for you.

RE: Finally!
Yeah, I was going nuts, becuase I didn;t know how long he would lay there or where he would go. I had calls but was afraid to use them with him being so close. Ifigured he'd look right up at me. On this day I thanked a spike.
