Default Bedding areas

I was scouting in a state park in CT yesterday, and I came across what looked to be a bedding area. It was not too far upland from a swamp, I saw what looked to be a trail in and out, and I kicked what sounded like a deer up while looking ( I didn't see it, just heard it). The funny thing was there were no deer droppings in the bedding area. I don't think I have ever seen a bedding area with no droppings. Just curious if anyone else has come across this.

I also posted in the bowhungting area, with no responses. Sorry for the double post.

if it was flattened out and u heard deer run...u may have hit the spot. i do not hunt directly over those areas because i never beat the deer to bed. i would hunt near it during the rut to see if they get some buck action

While on drives in PA, I have come across large bedding areas, and they have always had droppings around. This was a smaller area, probably an area for olny a few deer. I plan to get in there to hunt later in the week. I'll fifnd out the old fashion way.
