i currently have a new york pistol permit issued in sullivan county, it has on it typed in on the bottom ,no restrictions, is this the highest level you can get ? and is this considered a concealed carry permit ? any info or links will be much appreciated .

NYS only issues carry conceal style permits, often times with restrictions, like hunting, target etc.... if yours says no restrictions I believe thats as good as it gets!!My neighbor had one with out restrictions, he was afraid to get another pistol fearing the clerk would type Hunting/Target on his when they were adding the new gun. I have a "Sportsman" I did apply for a concealed carry after I was already approved and was denied for a full carrybecause they said that self defence is not a suitable reason.[:@]

from what I've been told never write down self defense as 9 times out of 10 you will get turned down
