Went into my local meat market here in Marquette MI and they had a sign up. No more deer Processing. I always would cut up my own but I would bring in to them to grind it for me.

i work at a butcher shoppe in southeastern wisconsin and we got a letter from the dnr saying we cannot process deer until further notice and this was in july so i think for this season it is not looking very good... my boss sent a letter to madison seeing what was up and they are saying not as well..not good for both people and i know the shop will take a big loss this year...from what i heard is that if you dont go threw bone you will be alright...but its just to risky..i do hunt deer and will be eating mine but i dont hunt in the danger zone...

There are shops in SE Wisconsin that are processing deer. They must not have gotten a "letter". I'd like to see a copy of it.
