had alot of fun, saw alot of deer, but didnt fill my tag. i passed on 3 nice 8 pointers, all immature but beautiful none the less, couple spikes, button and several does. thought i would get a shot at a nice MATURE 11 pt, but he turned just before he came out of the brush, i gave a little grunt to see if i could turn him and he took off like i had fired a shot at him, kinda strange considering this was opening morning and no shots had been fired in my area.

I didn't see a single one in northern stephenson county. Our group of 12 guys got 5 deer and one guy shot two, so he was done right away. We had a lot of corn up still, but second season should be a lot better since the corn will be gone. Just got our first snow too, but it will be gone before thursday.
Good Luck to everyone

Our property in Carroll County gave us 7 deer. 5 bucks 2 doe. Only one of the bucks was something to brag about and my nieghbor shot it. Going out for second season but we will only be looking for a true trophy.

Pretty successful/average year for my hunting party. Between the 7 of us we got 4 deer. 2 spike bucks, a small doe, and a nice 8 pointer. We hunt public land in Jackson County.
A coworker got a VERY nice deer...picture below...he hunts private land in Putnam County...dressed out at 200 pounds+...28 points non typical. Beautiful deer...

Our group had a great first season. We killed 29 deer total. That's between about 20 guys. We do our own processing. After they have been to the check station they go in an old milk cooler to cool out for a week. Then we quarter and de-bone all the meat. Same process on deer after second season. Then around the first of the year it take a good full day to get everything mixed up and put into casings. Then the next couple days are spent smoking all the meat.
Here's a few pics of some of the deer we harvested:

This is the biggest. 16 ptr 220lbs. Would have been 17 but he had one busted.
