Any hunters here from illinois planning on shotgun hunting next weekend.
If so you better be taking your rain clothes and waterproof boots. They are calling for some big storms!! Makes me pretty mad.

I' m planning on sticking around here in Lake County for some bowhunting that weekend, but not if it' s raining! I might take advantage of that and sleep in for once! This hunting almost every day thing is really hard on trying to get some quality sleep.

Where are you getting your forcast at. I saw upper 50' s and cloudy. It could all be wrong. Shotgun season is still over a week away. Forcasters have a hard enough time getting todays conditions right let alone 8 days from now.

Just north of you River in Montgomery county. My grandparents live on the south side of the bridge on Vandalia lake. Where in Fayette are you from? Had any luck this year?

I live about 7 miles north of Brownstown. Right on the edge of the kaskaskia river bottoms. AND also I work in montgomery county.
I missed a good one early due to a brainfart on my part. I' ve got a borderline booner on video about 50 yards from my stand last sunday morning. last weekend alone I seen 8 different racked bucks. a couple dandies. just havn' t got the right situation, but I' m really close.
how about you -- any luck?

I' ve seen a couple P&Y' s in the middle of October. One was a really nice 10 and the other was an awesome 8. Probably around a 23 in. spread with 14 or 15 in. G-1' s and G-2' s that aren' t much smaller. I' ve got some trail cam pics of him now. I also have pics of a couple nice young 8' s that will be shooter next year and young 7 that needs a couple more years. And now I have a 10 ptr with split G-1' s on both sides on film. All I have is a profile view so I' m not sure on what his spread is but from the looks of his thickness he' s a definate shooter. I shot a yearling the first weekend right at dark. Came back the next morning to track and dress it but the yotes beat me too it. I' m gonna go at it hard this last weekend before shotgun. All those buck in the same area has my blood flowing pretty good. Do you go to Buckstop alot?

Everytime I' ve been there its been packed. At least 10-20 people. I love that Dart target systemt though. Me and my buddies usually make a trip down there in the summer and use it.
