Default Opinion of Arizona Court Ruling

I have not seen any posts here regarding the recent Arizona court ruling, as well as USO's pressure on Nevada and Montana regarding nonresident tags. What is your opinion of all this?

Go to the Bowsite.com Arizona forum to view threads. This is a big deal that will affect many states.

So this USO want's to remove a cap on Non-resident tags? Sounds like what's going on here in Illinois. We've got a cap on nonresident archery tags. The outfitters and the farm bureau here are fighting to have it removed. Although our issue isn't tags, but land. The outfitters lease up large tracts of land and it becomes an access issue. If they ever get that cap removed, I'm gonna likely be out hunting ground. Pike County unfortunately attracts large numbers of nonresident hunters.[&o]

I say boycott USO and anybody that supports them. Zim, I tried posting a topic about this in the Politics forum, but only got one reply? I couldn't beleive it. As big of a deal as this is, I can't beleive the amount of non-interest on this subject. What USO is trying to do is dramatically turn this into a money sport, and a whole lot more than it is already. The whole idea just makes me outraged.

I agree there is amazingly little interest in this cout ruling outside of Arizona. Even Neveada and Montana residents seem to be nonresponsive, and they are being sued also! I am glad it is bringing attention to the problem of nonresident discrimination, but the prospect of eliminating all NR quotas is too radical. It's the fees and restrictions that are the problem, not so much quotas. Arizona F&G was an easy target for USO to experiment their case. They are now formulating several new policies to try and get back the resident preference while still complying with the judge's ruling. Their is a poll on the AZF&G website you may participate in. Go to Bowsite.com and I posted the link.

Hey I took my boys to Canada. We went into Red Lake while fishing Gullrock. Fishing was OK but relatively slow. Walleye very picky. We are going to try Lac Suel next time. My taxidermist swears by it. He has boated several over 30" there.

I will be bowhunting Illinois this year. Hopefully Kansas next year.
