Hi guys from western n. y. Aroundthe first week of april i`m going to jump in the truck & take a ride to kansas. I was wondering if you could tell me about any good public land. To find sheds & to look for a future spot to hunt whitetails. I,m not sure if i,ll be bow rifle or muzzle loader hunting. thank you for you,re reply.

What part of Ks. will you be in. There are public lands from one end of the state to the other end.

Look on the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks website. It should show you the public and walk in hunting areas.
Is your future hunt a guided or do it yourself?

Public land is very limited...there are some spots with alot of acres but it's always a warzone. If your interested in a guided hunt, let me know.

Link removed Rule 7.

The best chance you have at getting some good hunting action in is to ask the locals, there is a good amount of public access land that only they know about. Also stay away from the east side of the state, unless you want to hunt shoulder-to-shoulder. I know a few awesome spots that are public access and never get hunted, except for me of course... The further you go west the less amount of deer, but also a lot less hunters, Plus the deer are just as big. The sandhills(SW) has thousands of acres, but is tough hunting.

Thanks kshunter thats the kind of info. I've been looking for. I don't blame you for giving out your spot I don't expect that.

Good luck hunter60... Between the thousands of acres of WIHA and thousands of acres of Public land, and after spending a few days just scouting them out, you'll have some good spots to hunt for sure.
