I forgot and let mine slip away so I went to the State Police office in Springfield and got mine taken care of in about three days. That was two years ago.

Good luck!

i had no idea you could do such a thing, i live near jacksonville so s'field is only about a 45 minute drive.

i already got my new card but would like to know how to go about renewing at the state police office, is there a certain way to go about it or just show up and let them know what you want? is it the office off of I55?

on the subject of FOID cards, has anyone ever had people mistake the FOID card for an state police id, have had it happen in a restaurant and a bar when i didnt have any other id on me and their response is always "thank you officer"
