And you got one guy saying he knows someone that got a ticket from the DNR (which not one article on the ticket), and the animal isn't even protected in this state.

What is it about PA and OH guys that brings out the liar in them when it comes to Mt. Lions?

Hey don't jump on Me saying I'm lieing. I'm just telling what I heard. I have no reason to make that up. I did see a picture of the so called mountain lion. For all I know it could have been a photoshopped picture of him with a mountain lion. Or he could have killed one somewhere else. I dunno, but I did ask the guy just recently if he ever heard anything about the little ones the dnr took. We went to put stands up a couple weeks ago, and were talking to him. Here is his story of what went on. There was a wild game hunting farm, that would do elk, wild boar, mountain lion, goats, all kinds of exotic deer, and crap like that. He said it was like within 6 miles of where we hunt. They would get the animals after the person paid for the hunt, and turn them loose into the enclosure. Well I guess they went bankrupt, and got into some trouble, and just left some of the animals they had in the enclosure. Some of them happened to be mountain lions. Not sure how many. So they eventually escaped from the enclosure. There were also a good amount of wild boar escaped, and thats why we have some wild boar in our area also. Again this is only what I heard from this guy. I am not saying I know this for a fact, but its just a fact that I heard it from someone.

I hunt in south eastern indiana pretty close to the state line and I've never seen one. That being said, while I'd like to tell you that its more than likely that itsz just a rumor, I'll also admit that given the amount of stupid people in country who would buy an infant wild cat and then realize they have neither the resources nor desire to care for one and therefore decide they should release it into nature, I wouldnt put it outside the realm of possibility. Chances are though that you'll never see them even if they are there.

we have found bear tracks at a friends farm in belmont... never seen him though... but i believe the whole mtn lions in ohio thing simply because much of ohio is similar to where they are native too... the climate is very similar as well

I don't doubt the sightings. I can more doubt the wildness of the cats.

Travel to Mt. Hope one of the 3 weekends a year in Ohio when the Exotic Animal Auction is going on. They'll have camels, elk, moose, bears, monkeys, crocodiles, alligators, hogs, zebras, kudu, impala and even MOUNTAIN LIONS. They've had African lions there, and I was told that they used to have elephants.

I'll bet dollars to donuts that some of these sightings were because Joe Nimrod thought that he could turn a mountain lion cub into a 100 pound lap cat. Then that didn't work, he kicked the cat to the curb.

Here's a link to the Mt. Hope auction flyer coming up in March.
