Dove season in Illinois

Anybody going after doves on labor Day. I dont think that there are any cut fields in my neck of the woods, but hopefully i will jump a few while squirrel hunting.

Yep, this time of the year, any cut field should have them piling in. We have some mennonite neighbors who are always cutting hay and silage, so if i am lucky, they might have an open field.

Will go Labor Day on some nearby public land, hope it isn't too crowded. Lanse, I once got drawn for Sam Parr State Park over by Newton on opening day..........it was nothing but a madhouse. I won't waste my gas doing that again!

I've heard about Sam Parr. Had a buddy that used to go up there for dove hunting from time to time. Think that I will stick to cruising around richland county and seeing if i can find a cut field.Otherwise, i will just have to make due with some squirrel and frog hunting thisweekend.
