New visitor to the forum and looks like a great place for information. Myself and and a friend have access to an 800 acre farm in Barton County Kansas to hunt whitetails.Just have to figure out a way to get a tag. We applied as non-residents this year for the first time and were denied.
[ul][*]Can anyone please tell me how long it normally takes to build up enough points to pull a tag?[*]Would we have better odds having the land owner apply and transfer the tags to us?[*]Do they have crop damage permits in Kansas and can non-residents use these tags to hunt?[*]Are there any other options? We would very much like to go next year but know little about the best way to get a tag. Don't want to buy one on EBAY as it would be costly and defeat the purposeof this opportunity.[*]Does anyone know if the Great Bend, Kansas area holds big deer. We hunt in Southern Michigan and would love a crack at the big Kansas legends we see on TV.[*]What is the best time (rut) for Kansaswhitetails I believe the rifle opener is late November or early December. [/ul]
Any help or answers to any of these questions is appreciated and I hope everyone has had a great season and being safe. Thanks again and good hunting.
