How are all of you liking this weather....and wind. ha, ha It's great for now, but man I'm just thinking about what's going to happen to deer movement when it hits 70+ degrees like we know it will again before the snow flies.

I agree with you but wish the weather would remain cold. I was supposed to go hunting this week end but came down with a severe sinus infection. The meds make me more dizzy than I already am sooooooo I'm on this dang computer.

I'm getting to be more of a sissy in my old age. I used to walk around in just a pair of jeans and a regular jacket while running traps in below zero temps. Now I hate to crawl out of bed if the thermostat is set at less than 66 degrees.
I like my deer hunting in the 40's.Any warmer and it's abit too warm and I worry about cooling down the meat.Any colder and I start to freeze (and I do spend a lot of time out there freezing). The only thing I reallydislike isthe wind. Deer seem more nervous, arrow flight is questionable and I can't hear anything.

Yah, I can tough out the temps, but the wind will not only decrease your senses, but cut right through you! I got kicked out of bed yesterday to go hunt, he told me it was calm, get to my stand, and it's blowing at least 15 gusting to 20 I'm sure... Because of that, we sat out this morning's hunt too. I'm hoping we didn't miss "the day" because the winds weren't quite as high as they were the last few days. Now, hopefully tomorrow will be the magic day as for the first time in 5 days the winds will be below 10mph. YAY!

I love it. The crisp sound of leaves crunching and seeing your breath. PERFECT! I hope it is here to stay. Hey Christine, my bro-in-law used to be the mayor of stanford. Nice small little town.

The wind was cutting through us yesterday. I stayed until a little after 9a.m. and my buddy headed back just after 8 a.m. Plus the fact that I didn't feel safe standing up in my stand with the tree blowing back and forth.

Small world eh?I just moved here last winter. Immediately got a speeding ticket too. I guess these small towns take the speed limit a whole lot more seriously than we did up in Chicago.Oh well, at least I had slowed down to 79mph when I got clocked. [
]Now I drive like a good downstater....
