Well it is almost the end of firearms season anyone else besides me going eat their tags?? I started bow hunting this year so I have been hunting for almost two months now and still nothing. I missed three with bow, 1 buck and 2 does, and just nicked a spike which I saw later and is just fine. Then firearms opened and I haven't been out much but did shot a mature doe on Tuesday, drilled her at 20 yards, she jumped 6 feet and kept falling as she and 2 fawns ran away, great blood trail and then she dried up and we looked for two days using 4 wheelers and we search 3 different properties for her and nothing. She never laid down to bleed out and I didn't push her. I never lost a deer before and I amsick about the whole thing. May get to go one or two more times but I don't know?

I still havent gotten a deer either have passed up a few though. Only two more days.

Seems like an fairly slow year...even with the great weather we've had the past 2 months. I shot a big doe last week, and past up on tons of deer during bow season. I've honestly seen 1 great buck, and 1 good buck. After that, tons of smaller guys.

It'll be interesting to see the numbers when the DNR posts them. I'd like to see if the rest of Indiana is having as much luck as some of us.

Nice cold morning...I'm gonna see if I can fill my quota of the year. Set a goal of 1 buck and 1 doe..both mature. Now the hard part in finding a mature buck.

Bad day:

My buddy's Knight Revolution jammed on him this morning with a doe 30 yards in front of him. This afternoon, he missed a very nice buck 30 yards in front of him. The buck ran towards me, then saw a group of deer..which he ran to. It was a nice buck, maybe I can get a shot at him tomorrow.

one more day left of shotgun season. didnt see much at all. did jump one walking from stand. see what tommorrow brings.

Good luck guys. I know that feeling your friend must have had Pat. Last year on the very last day of Muzzy i was trying to fill my bonus tag. I had got in there late becuase i had been out of town. Immediately saw deer, including one small buck. Anyways, i was on the ground and had a big doe get to within 20 yards of me. I pulled the trigger and all i got was POP. Damn thing didnt fire. I either didnt have the hammer all the way back or the cap was bad. Anyways, there went my deer and my summer sausage for the winter.

I may head out tomorrow, it's midnight now so i dont know about morning. Colts play at 1, maybe if its a blowout i could head out in the afternoon. I have a doe tag but i honestly think i would rather use it during muzzy season. I like hunting the late season and dont want to be done yet. We only need 1 more deer. It looks like opening weekend of muzzy may be out though, wife is wanting to go visit her father in French Lick and do some gambling at the new Casino there, then she wants to go vist Santa Clause Indiana.
